The attacker has netted 5 finishes in 10 Spanish league appearances this season.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has apologised to fans for his conduct when taken off in the recent heated Clasico clash victory.

Vinicius was replaced in the second half and showed his annoyance by going straight to the dressing room.

Vinicius eventually reappeared to the bench and, after his club's narrow triumph, attempted to approach Barça's opposing player during unpleasant final whistle scenes.

"Today I want to say sorry to all the supporters for my reaction when I was replaced in the big match," he posted on social media.

"Just as I have previously expressed during today's training, I also want to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the team, and the president.

"Sometimes passion takes over me because I continuously aim to triumph and assist my side. My winning mentality stems from the affection I feel for this team and everything it represents."

The player signed for Madrid from Brazil in 2018 for millions and has notched 111 goals in 335 appearances.

But his prospects in the Madrid is far from certain with speculation in recent months indicating that the club would think about permitting the 25-year-old depart if they obtained a suitable offer.

When the winger was substituted on Sunday, TV coverage from broadcaster the service recorded him remarking: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I leave, I'm leaving."

In his most recent message on social media, the athlete said: "I vow to keep battling constantly for the welfare of the club, as I have done since the first day."
